Additional Therapies

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral TherapyWe are all familiar with the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.  Like them, the craniosacral system also influences many body functions. An imbalance in this system can adversely affect the brain and spinal cord which can result in sensory, motor and intellectual dysfunction.

CST is a very gentle hands on, non-invasive technique which evaluates and enhances the body’s physiological function, by the use of sensitive and gentle mobilisation of the craniosacral system which consists of the  bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium(head), to the spine which extends down to the sacrum (in the pelvis).

Some of the common conditions that can be helped include:

allergies, birth trauma, neck & back pain, digestive problems, learning difficulties, reduced mobility, low energy, headaches & migraines, temperomandibular joint (TMJ) problems, motor coordination disorders, fibromyalgia, emotional difficulties, stress/tension & related problems, menstrual & menopausal problems.

Craniosacral Therapy’s gentle approach is very safe and can be used for all ages, from the newborn to the elderly.  In the newborn, conditions that may be avoided or improved are extensive and include:

Craniosacral TherapyADHD & other behavioural difficulties, colic, feeding & sleeping disturbances, constant ear & chest infections, co-ordination difficulties and neuro-developmental delay

Craniosacral Therapy is also safe throughout pregnancy, improving comfort by assisting the body in adapting to the growing foetus and helping to normalize hormonal imbalance.

Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which involves treating the individual with highly diluted substances, given mainly in tablet form, with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing. Based on their specific symptoms, a homeopath will match the most appropriate medicine to each patient. For a full list of commonly treated conditions please contact us.
